What You’ll DoYou will contribute to developing, testing, and releasing improvements to cloud images and tooling used by public clouds and enterprise deployments. Work with distributed engineering teams and cloud partners to deliver reliable, high-quality Ubuntu-based images and automation.Collaborate proactively with a distributed team to design and implement solutionsWrite high-quality Python code, including unit and functional testsCreate, manage, and maintain Ubuntu cloud images and related toolingDebug issues across diverse target releases and environments; produce robust fixesReview code and provide constructive feedback to peersInvestigate problems, discuss ideas, and help drive practical engineering solutionsCommunicate with users and community contributors to ensure needs are metParticipate in occasional global travel (typically 2–4 weeks per year) for team sprints and eventsKey Qualifications (Required)Strong Python development experience on Linux platformsFamiliarity with Linux system administration principlesExperience writing unit and integration/functional tests and automationComfortable working in distributed teams and communicating asynchronouslyBachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, STEM, or related fieldPassion for quality, attention to edge cases, documentation, and user experiencePreferred / Nice-to-Have SkillsExperience with Ubuntu and Debian packaging (deb)Familiarity configuring apt and creating system imagesExperience with continuous integration (CI) systems and end-system contract managementExperience working with public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) or on-premise cloud environmentsPrior contributions to open source projects or community engagementWhat We OfferThe confidential client offers a distributed work environment with emphasis on growth, learning, and fairness.
