Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders in pediatric clients.
Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each child's unique needs, incorporating evidence-based therapy strategies.
Deliver engaging speech therapy sessions in school settings or clinical environments, utilizing age-appropriate activities and materials.
Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to support the child's communication goals across settings.
Monitor progress regularly, adjusting therapy approaches as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and compliance records in accordance with professional standards.
Stay current with advancements in speech therapy practices, physiology knowledge, medical terminology, and anatomy to enhance patient care.
Requirements
Valid license or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the relevant jurisdiction.
Prior school experience working with children in pediatric or early intervention settings is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques tailored for pediatrics and early intervention programs.
Experience conducting patient assessments and interpreting medical terminology related to communication disorders.
Solid understanding of physiology and anatomy relevant to speech production and swallowing functions.
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare professionals.
