Beam Tufting Creeler Operator-3Position Overview: To assure the warper is ran efficiently which includes creeling and starting and ending beams. Also requires to do the necessary paperwork for each beam.Essential Duties: (Considering Job Knowledge, Job Environment, Effort, Manipulative Skill, Judgement, Safety Knowledge and Responsibility):I. Starting a BeamA. Zero the yardage meter and the poundage meter.B. Pull the yarn ends down so they will wrap around the empty beam.C. Roll the empty beam under the warper arms and then lower the ARMS over the Beam.D. Press the "UP" button to raise the Beam onto the Warper.1. Insert Safety Pins.2. Wrap ends around the Beam and lay the ends of the yarn between the beam and warper drum, check ends for correct spacing.3. Push the "START" button to begin Warper.4. Center the Beam using the adjuster that moves the Beam from side to side if the beam is touching one side of the Warper drum or the other.II. Setting Up a Beam SetA. Adjust yardage meter to run the poundage required per Beam.III. Ending a BeamA. After the weight reaches the pounds required per Beam, the Warper will stop automatically if the yardage meter has been preset and reaches the point of zero on the counter.B. Tape the ends at the free rolling bar.1. Since only one side of the ends have tape, run the beam enough so the tape is on the other side of the ends.2. Tape the ends again on top of the first strip of tape.3. Put the tape on the Beam with adhesive side up, and stick ends of tape to the side of the Beam.4. Run Beams around on rotation and tape other side of yarn. (Adhesive to Adhesive)5. Pull the ends through the Warper and cut, then tie the ends back out of the way.6. Gather the ends into two sections and tuck under some ends on the Beams.7. Tie the tail into a slip knot.8. Put Beam information on each Beam before doffing.IV. Mending YarnA. After warping the 1st or 2nd beam, gather four or five packages for mending yarn.B. Check the lot number and write on a piece of paper (Tag).C. Tape the packages together with the tag visible.D. Put the mending yarn in the holding bins behind the warpers.V. QualityA. Check the tension of the yarn, anytime yarn is ran too tight, it causes streaks once the yarn is tufted.B. Continually check the beam for off color such as wrong yarn lot.C. Make sure yarn is warped evenly and not building up on one side or the other. Adjustments should be done by using the spacing guide. Push the spacing guide left or right or use the end cranks to make the yarn run wider or narrower.VI. End-BreaksA. If the Warper does not stop automatically, stop as soon as possible.B. Locate the end out on the Beam.C. Next locate the end out at the Header and blow yarn back.VII. PaperworkA. Warping Order1. The following items must be filled out for each Bean:a. Beam Number/Start Yardsb. Stop Yards/Shiftc. Total Yards/Pounds2. Total Yards and Pound Column at the end of the Beam Set.3. List the Warper Tender and the Creelers names on this sheet.4. After the order is completed, record the date and shift at the bottom of the sheet.B. Identification Tag1. The following information is recorded on the tag:(a) Beam Number/Yards(b) Yarn Size/Type(c) Machine Number/Date(d) Warped By/Ends(e) Pounds/Lot Number(f) Gauge/Shift2. Tape tag to individual BeamVIII. Following Established Attendance PolicyA. Must adhere to the Corporate Attendance Policy.B. Must speak personally with Supervisor detailing reason for absence.IX. Adhering To Work ScheduleA. Must work all scheduled hours per shift...B. Must be able to work weekends.C. Must be able to work 12 hour shifts.D. Must be able to work Holidays if needed.Non-Essential Duties: (Considering Job Knowledge, Job Environment, Effort, Manipulative Skill, Judgement, Safety Knowledge and Responsibility):Responsible for blowing out and cleaning up the area around the Warper and Creel. Responsible for using safe work habits. Responsible for ensuring personal safety, as well as the safety of others near and around all working Machinery.Physical RequirementsMust be able to stand for at least 7 hours of an 8 hour work day.Must be able to move heavy beams.Other Requirements:Must be able to read and write legibly.
