We make meals that are individually-tailored to the needs of every client and so need to be precise (many clients have allergies) and fast (we operate under tight deadlines). We’re looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations including kitchen coordination with the chef team, plating, snack production, inventory, dispatch execution as well as catering, database operations and customer service.ScheduleRequired: Saturday & Sunday (primary production + dispatch days)Compensation$80-90K, based on experiencePerformance-based incentives tied to:Order accuracyOn-time dispatchWaste reductionTeam efficiencyCatering salesClient retentionRole OverviewThis is both a floor leadership role and a desk job. You’ll be responsible for ensuring smooth, efficient execution from prep through final dispatch during kitchen operations time. You’ll act as the bridge between kitchen staff, packers, and delivery coordination. During the week, you'll be developing our catering business and handling back end customer support and our order management system.Key Responsibilities Production & Plating OversightManage plating/assembly line for high-volume meal prep (we do about 1000 meals on weekends and growing)Ensure consistency, portion accuracy, and presentation standardsIdentify and resolve bottlenecks in real timeDispatch & LogisticsOversee packaging, labeling, and order accuracyCoordinate dispatch timing and routing readinessEnsure all orders leave complete and on scheduleInventory ManagementTrack ingredient and packaging inventory levelsReceive and portion out inventory across production daysMinimize waste and track variances in cost, use to inform menu developmentTeam LeadershipRecruit, supervise and direct plating team (typically 8–12 staff)Set the pace, assign roles, and maintain accountabilityStep in wherever needed to keep operations flowingProcess ImprovementContinuously refine systems for speed, accuracy, and efficiencyHelp implement SOPs and basic tracking systemsCateringSupport with outreachCoordinate production with kitchen teamHandle all executionCustomer Support and Order ManagementHandle all communications with clientsFlag errors in team meeting and come up with solutionsOversee order management portal including inputting of new dishes, managing client subscriptions, order adjustments, and running all reportsIdeal Candidate2+ years in food operations, catering, meal prep, or high-volume kitchen environmentsStrong organizational and leadership skills under pressureExperience managing small teams in fast-paced settingsDetail-oriented with a focus on consistency and executionComfortable being on your feet and actively working during shiftsNice to HaveExperience with meal delivery or meal prep businessesBasic inventory or supply chain management experienceComfortable with food safety standards and complianceSome corporate catering sales experienceWhat Success Looks LikeSmooth, on-time weekend productionLow error rateEfficient team flow with minimal downtimeControlled food and packaging wasteGrowing catering salesSounds like something you'd love to do?
