Assistant Golf Professional

The Assistant Professional will work within the stated guidelines of the golf department planning, organizing, scheduling, promoting and developing golf programs which meet the memberships' needs.The position requires an outstanding golf professional who possesses great communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate should have experience teaching and providing instructional programs.The ideal candidate will also have prior junior golf experience and a strong playing resume. The Seasonal Assistant Professional will report to the Director of Golf and is expected to help create a cohesive environment in the operation.Essential ResponsibilitiesKEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYUnderstand and uphold the Baltusrol Mission Statement and all Club policiesAssist the Director of Golf in managing all daily golf operationsConsistently provide the highest level of customer service to all club members and guestsLead or assist in tournament and event administration, with opportunities to serve as primary Tournament Director for select events based on experienceCoordinate and execute select outside outingsAssist the Director of Retail in providing the highest level of service, presentation, and product variety in the Golf ShopAssist in inventory control of all hard goods (stock, demo, and fitting inventory)Assist the Director of Instruction by providing private lessons, group clinics, club fitting services, and promotion of instructional programsAssist in creating supporting materials for all staff and Golf Committee meetingsBuild a close working relationship with fellow department managers and their respective staffsWork closely with golf course Superintendents and maintain effective daily communicationRepresent Baltusrol Golf Club in local and regional golf tournamentsStay engaged with the NJPGA and other local associations and make sure you are updated on all best practicesMaintains an appropriate level of availability and presence around the Golf Shop and Play Deck to ensure high member satisfactionAnswers phone and respond to emails in a timely manner and helps members and guests with questions related to the golf programProvides service to members - visibility on the first tee, greeting guests, assisting as an on-course player assistant while ensuring appropriate pace of playMaintains a solid knowledge of the game – rules, handicap system, equipment manufacturersWillingness to go "Above and Beyond" in all aspects of the Club and Golf OperationMaintain a clean and orderly workspace and professional appearanceProvide basic club repairs as needDesire to learn and to be mentored by Senior Golf Professional StaffAssist with training and supervision of outside service personnelOverviewThe Assistant Professional will work within the stated guidelines of the golf department planning, organizing, scheduling, promoting and developing golf programs which meet the memberships' needs.The position requires an outstanding golf professional who possesses great communication and interpersonal skills.
