Job Description BCForward is currently looking for Material Handler in Miami, FL 33136Job Title: Material HandlerLocation: Miami, FL 33136Duration: 1-Month Contract (Potential Extension or Conversion to Full-Time)Shift: 6am – 2pm, M-FJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Technician IWSS to join our Hospital Services team. The ideal candidate will have experience in waste handling, facility operations, and safety compliance and a proven ability to maintain proper waste segregation, operate treatment equipment, and uphold regulatory standards.Responsibilities:Collect and receive waste from hospital personnel in accordance with Stericycle protocols.Inspect waste for acceptance and separate waste streams for treatment or disposal.Operate compactors, shredders, and RMW treatment equipment as required.Unload incoming vehicles and stage or stack waste for scanning in the Bio Track system.Scan waste carts for radioactivity and other adverse materials.Package waste for off-site transport when required and ensure proper documentation.Wash and decontaminate waste carts manually or using a tub wash unit; inspect and stack clean tubs for reuse.Decontaminate vehicle cargo areas and reload reusable tubs, ensuring no free liquids remain.Perform simple equipment adjustments or repairs and escalate major issues to a mechanic.Maintain a clean and safe work environment and address spills or debris immediately.Greet and interact with hospital personnel and patients in a professional manner.Support collection services throughout the hospital as assigned and notify management of waste flow issues.Assist with scheduling collections, documenting locations, and shift leader duties including staffing, safety, and reporting as needed.Required Skills & Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent.1+ years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.Ability to operate material handling and waste processing equipment safely.Knowledge of waste segregation, decontamination, and recordkeeping practices.Reliable transportation.Preferred Skills:Experience in hospital or healthcare waste operations.Familiarity with Bio Track or similar scanning and tracking systems.Benefits:BCforward offers all eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to major medical, HSA, dental, vision, employer-provided group life, voluntary life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and 401k.About BCforward:Founded in 1998 on the idea that industry leaders needed a professional service, and workforce management expert, to fuel the development and execution of core business and technology strategies, BCforward is a Black-owned firm providing unique solutions supporting value capture and digital product delivery needs for organizations around the world.
