Term of Employment: Full Time, 12 months with benefitsPay Range: Starting Placement $21.00 - $26.00 DOEFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSummaryThe Human Resources Assistant will play a critical role in supporting the HR/Payroll Department within Pima JTED. Human Resources experience is required. The position is responsible for assisting with general human resources and payroll functions. The ideal candidate will have strong work ethics, strong organizational abilities, and solid communication skills. The role requires a high level of confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.Assisting with the onboarding of new employees; this includes accurate entry, maintenance and updating of employee records in the HR/Payroll databaseSchedules interviews and prepares interview materials, ensures regular communication and timely updates on all new hire progressConducts preemployment reference checks as neededCarries out compliance related tasks, follows district policies and procedures, rules and regulations set forth by the Uniform System of Financial Records (USFR), labor laws, etc.Creates and maintains personnel records ensuring documents are up to date and compliant with district policiesProvides general administrative support and assists with various components of HR/Payroll functions as neededWill support with the processing of payroll; to include processing and verification of employee timesheets, and payroll voucher processingAssist with quarterly and annual tax formsSupports with the maintenance of employee payroll recordsProvides assistance with beginning and end of year HR/payroll tasks as neededPrepares and composes a variety of materials, such as reports, correspondence, forms, spreadsheets, etc.Assists with the District's annual HR/Payroll auditsCommunicates with District personnel, teachers, and business communityPerforms other related duties as assignedQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
