Director of Household Operations Private Family Peninsula, CA | $150K$200K + Benefits A private family on the Peninsula is seeking a Director of Household Operations to support the Chief of Staff and provide high-level operational and administrative leadership across the familys estates. This role is ideal for someone with private service experience in team management, household operations, and administrative oversight who thrives in a hands-on, dynamic environment. The Director of Household Operations will work closely with the Chief of Staff to ensure smooth operations, oversee staff, support the familys needs, and help build a strong team culture. Location & Travel Primarily onsite on the Peninsula/family office Travel to other properties as needed Flexibility required Key Responsibilities Support the Chief of Staff and family with day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives Manage payroll, invoicing, and household budgets, ensuring accuracy and timely processing Oversee vendor relationships, including invoicing, coordination, and quality control Partner with the Chief of Staff to supervise household staff, including scheduling, performance management, and team development Build and maintain team culture, standard operating procedures, and operational protocols Serve as backup for the Chief of Staff when needed, including light calendar and travel support Assist with other operational or administrative tasks, demonstrating flexibility and service orientation Travel as needed to support multiple properties and family events in Northern California Qualifications Bachelors degree highly preferred Experience in operations, household management, or administrative leadership within family offices or private services Hands-on, service-oriented mindset; no task is too big or small Warm, positive, and team-oriented personality with strong interpersonal skills Ability to manage, mentor, and motivate staff while maintaining discretion Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities Flexible and adaptable, including potential travel and occasional overtime Open to relocation assistance if needed Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-performance, dynamic environment supporting high-profile families Compensation & Benefits $150,000 $200,000 depending on experience Benefits stipend provided until family benefits plan is established Relocation assistance may be available We will consider qualified candidates with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the SanFrancisco Fair Chance Ordinance.California applicants, please view our Privacy Notice here: https://careergroupcompanies.com/california-privacy-notice/ .
