This is an ideal role for an early‑career engineer—or a recent graduate—who wants to learn, lead, and grow inside a global manufacturing organization. You’ll work directly with plant leadership to improve processes, strengthen safety, and drive continuous improvement across the production floor. If you’re energized by solving problems, optimizing systems, and making things run better, this is your kind of place. Having Bi-lingual skill, English-Spanish (conversational Spanish), is a plus, but not required.Why This Role MattersThis isn’t a back‑office engineering role. You’ll be on the floor, working with operators, influencing process decisions, and helping shape a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You’ll also gain exposure to corporate engineering initiatives across the global Emsur network.What You’ll DoYou’ll be a key contributor to process performance, quality, and safety. Core responsibilities include:Leading changes and modifications to machines and production processes to improve productivity, quality, and safetyDeveloping, updating, and communicating procedures and work instructions for operationsCreating and leading continuous improvement teams focused on waste reduction, machine speed, changeover times, and claimsImplementing and maintaining 5S initiativesAnalyzing production incidents and supporting corrective actionsIdentifying and managing operational risks, opportunities, and environmental impactsEnsuring proper handling of special‑handling waste and responsible use of resourcesSupporting audits and health & safety requirementsManaging small investment and improvement projectsCollaborating with engineers across other Emsur locations to share best practicesWhat You BringBachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical EngineeringOne (1) year of experience, including internshipsSome exposure to environmental health & safety best practices is preferred that includes navigating and compliance with various federal and state regulationsProficiency with Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPointCuriosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn in a hands‑on manufacturing environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCollaborative, teamwork-orientedBi-lingual skill is a plus, but not required (English-Spanish, conversational in Spanish, defined as being able to handle everyday interactions and basic workplace communication and comfortable in routine discussions, simple instructions, and informal exchanges)Work EnvironmentOn‑site at the Elk Grove Village, IL plantApproximately 30% on the production floor, 70% administrative/analytical workHot/humid environment at times; exposure to typical manufacturing risks (pinches, cuts, slips, falls)Emsur is an equal opportunity employer.
