To promote racial and spiritual harmony through love, peace, truth, righteousness and non-violence.The Role:Preparation of food items for service in a high volume restaurantThe Venue:This iconic House of Blues venue is located on the famous Las Vegas Strip inside the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. This venue has a full-service restaurant, music hall, and nightclub. It is a go-to spot for unparalled views of the stripWhat you'll do:Organize and prioritize preparation of food itemsPrepare food according to standardized recipesEnsure proper size and weight of food portionsCoordinate food preparation with other kitchen staffMaintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through work area throughout shiftFollow standard recipes regarding presentation of food itemsPrepare plate presentation pursuant to standard recipesClean and maintain kitchen equipment and walk-in coolerEnsure that kitchen area, including grill, oven, stoves, etc. remain clean and free of hazards during shiftKeep floor clean and free of food items, trash, or other obstaclesMaintain House of Blues safety and sanitation standardsPrepare kitchen equipment and set up station for shiftEnsure proper rotation of all food items, including the lifting/moving of food bins weighing up to 150 lbs.Perform all opening and closing dutiesSanitation and Safety complianceAttitude and teamworkAdherence to all House of Blues policiesOpening and Closing dutiesWhat you'll need:Required:Knowledge of high volume kitchen operationsAbility to inspect food spoilage and proper rotationKitchen sanitationPrep workExpediting knowledgeSkills in use of all kitchen equipmentAbility to follow standardized recipes and plate presentationAbility to maintain the pace of a high volume kitchenProper sanitation knowledgeKitchen and restaurant operationsAttention to detailPhysical Work Demands:Working environment is fast-paced and often loud and stressfulPosition requires extended periods of prolonged standing and working on your feetExtreme HeatMust be able to lift and/or move up to 150 lbs.Applicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa.EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYLive Nation Entertainment strongly supports equal employment opportunity for all applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, pregnancy, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, marital status, physical disability, mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by state or federal law.HIRING PRACTICESThe preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
