Systems Debug Engineer- EE
Overview
In this role you will bring Cerebras’ largest, most complex compute systems from design to production and field support. You will diagnose multi-domain failures and drive root-cause resolution across silicon, PCB, and mechanical interfaces, while remotely guiding recovery for deployed systems. You’ll collaborate with ASIC, systems, and manufacturing teams and contribute to design-for-test and thermal improvements. This is a hands-on, cross-functional position with meaningful impact on system reliability and performance.

ResponsibilitiesCharacterize failure signatures and troubleshoot at system, board, and component levelsPerform root-cause failure analysis down to silicon, PCB, or external componentsRemotely diagnose deployed systems using Linux, logs, telemetry, and diagnostic toolsDocument results and provide actionable recommendations to design/manufacturing teamsInterface with internal groups and external vendors to resolve issues and close corrective actionsParticipate in design reviews for next-generation systems, offering recommendations on DFT, mechanical, and thermal improvements
Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field3-5+ years in hardware bring-up, system integration, board/system debug, or failure analysisStrong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills based on first principlesSelf-driven, autonomous in fast-moving, ambiguous environmentsHands-on experience with oscilloscopes and standard electrical bench instrumentationPython scripting for data analysis and automationExcellent communication skills to convey complex technical findingsStrong communicationAutonomy and self-educationCross-functional collaborationOscilloscopes and electrical bench instrumentationPython scripting for data analysis/automationLinux environments and CLI for diagnostics
