Formulation Technician

Job Title: Formulation TechnicianLocation: Newark, DE 19711100% onsiteFlexibility to work early morning schedules based on study protocols (typically starting at 5:00 AM, 6:00 AM, or 8:00 AM).Duration: 12 Months contractPosition SummaryThe Formulation Technician will support formulation preparation and sample management activities for in vitro and in vivo toxicology studies. This role requires hands-on laboratory experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a GLP-regulated environment while maintaining accurate documentation and following established laboratory procedures.This position is best suited for candidates who are eager to learn, adaptable, and comfortable working in a highly regulated research environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare diet and liquid formulations for toxicology studies following approved protocols.Create and maintain formulation worksheets, laboratory notebooks, and study documentation.Receive, label, track, store, distribute, and dispose of test substances in compliance with GLP, SOPs, and safety guidelines.Prepare buffers, solvents, suspensions, and dosing formulations using standard laboratory techniques.Operate laboratory equipment such as pipettes and mixing apparatus.Maintain accurate records using laboratory information and data management systems.Support formulation and sample management activities while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.Follow all laboratory safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Animal Science, or another related scientific discipline.Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience preferred.Hands-on experience with: Buffer preparation, Solvent preparation, Pipetting, Titration, Suspension preparation or Chemical formulationExperience handling laboratory chemicals and crop protection compounds.Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Ability to interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Certificates of Analysis (COA).Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.Strong mathematical and basic algebra skills.Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills.Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.Professional references will be required after the interview process.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.Comfortable wearing required PPE, including lab coat, safety glasses, and N95 mask.Ability to work with animal diet formulations and laboratory chemicals.Work EnvironmentApproximately 80% of the work involves diet formulations and 20% involves liquid formulations.This position does not require heavy analytical instrument operation.
