DescriptionABLE Inc is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for a temporary assignment lasting five months or less with a strong background in coordinating and delivering high-quality care within the Intermediate Care Facility program. Skilled in supporting the Intermediate Care Facility Director with planning, organizing and managing daily operations to ensure compliance, safety and excellence in service delivery. Adept at leading and evaluating nursing practices, guiding direct support staff, and promoting person-centered care for individuals with diverse needs. Committed to fostering and supportive environment that enhances health outcomes, encourages independence and upholds the dignity of every person served.Approximate Dates: May 1 - SeptemberSchedule: FlexibleHours: Flexible 16-30/ weekRole Responsibilities and Essential Functions:Identifies with, shares in, and displays a commitment to the vision, mission, core values, and core virtues of ABLE, Inc.Collaborates with the Nursing Supervisor to create an environment of collective responsibility and accountability.Maintains policies and procedures that ensure compliance with all federal, state, local and ABLE, Inc. regulations.Program Development and Communication:• Demonstrates knowledge of histories, Coordinated Service and Support Plans, Individual Assessment/Risk Management Plans, and care plans of the people supported.• Advocates for appropriate services.• Arbitrates complaints and disputes concerning persons supported, their families or legal representative and/or other support services.• Prepares and submits reports in a professional and timely manner to governmental agencies, fiscal intermediaries, and regulatory agencies, as required and directed.• Analyzes referrals and coordinates the admit process.• Proactively seeks out ways to create efficiencies in delivery of programming.• Provides crisis intervention and emotional support.• Effectively communicates program needs to the Director of Nursing.• Participates in agency functions and fundraising events as needed.• Assists with surveys and inspections performed by regulatory agencies.• Performs other duties as assigned.Team Supervision and Support:• Mentors, educates and supports team members to become the highly effective caregivers to our people supported.• Embodies a coaching culture, ensuring each team member receives regular feedback and timely performance evaluations.• Participates in the onboarding and support of the individuals serving the people supported.• Plans and participates with the Nursing Supervisor in training related to programs, agencies, and in-service education.• Oversees corrective action as necessary related to employee performance.• Consults with HR when implementing disciplinary action.• Assumes on-call support, if needed.LeadershipPartners with the Director of Nursing to build relationships across the organization and community to support the strategic goals.Positively represents ABLE, Inc. in the community to further its mission and vision.Continuing Education:Maintains current certification in CPR, Positive Behavioral Supports (PBS), First Aid and CEU'sAttends conferences/workshops as needed to further enhance the skills necessary to provide exceptional care to the people supported.Personal Characteristics:Proven ability to interact with varied constituencies in a collegial and professional manner.Manages change with self-confidence along with a willingness to take calculated risks.Excellent communication (verbal, written, and presentation skills).A demonstrated multi-cultural competence - the awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant, and productive ways.Self-driven; willing to "roll up their sleeves"; assertive but "balanced".A strong, positive communicator who has a listening presence, speaks effectively and is a visible leader.A demonstrated high level of integrity, guided by a sound set of ethical principles.RequirementsQualifications & Skills:Required:o Graduate of an accredited school of nursingo Valid state licensure as a Registered Nurseo Outstanding ability to supervise, train, and evaluate support staffo Experience developing goals and outcomes for staffo Outstanding decision-making skills and response to high pressure situationso Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suiteo Passion for and dedication to ABLE, Inc. missiono Impactful communication skillso Excellent analytical and organizational skillso Complete integrity, honesty, and confidentialityo Ability to work with time-sensitive issuesTravel: None to Limited - La Crescent & CaledoniaPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that need to be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this role successfully.
