Key Responsibilities:Provide outstanding patient care through physical examinations, diagnostics, treatment plans, and preventive care based on each pet's unique needs. Utilize a methodical approach to care that includes comprehensive problem-solving and diagnostic planning to ensure effective treatment. Accurately document all patient observations, findings, and interactions in the medical record in a clear and concise manner. Conduct routine and advanced surgical procedures including spays/neuters, abdominal exploratories, and mass removals. Perform comprehensive dental procedures including evaluations and both simple and complex extractions. Design treatment plans for patients requiring hospitalization, ensuring seamless communication with referral hospitals for continuity of care. Additional Duties:Engage in collaborative rounds with fellow veterinarians at the beginning and end of your shifts. Share your knowledge with staff to elevate the overall level of care and communication throughout the hospital. Perform other duties as assigned. Work Environment:This role primarily takes place in the Vetco Total Care veterinary full-service hospital, requiring physical activity such as bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing for extended periods. Expect to have substantial interaction with clients and their pets. Qualifications:Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school. Active, unrestricted veterinary licensure in your state of practice. Current DEA license and Controlled Substance License, as applicable. USDA Category I (minimum) Accreditation or completion within two months of hire. Comfortable with anesthesia and performing both routine and advanced surgical procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with compassion and professionalism during stressful situations. Comfortable using technology, both digital and telephonic. A collaborative team player, eager to learn and contribute creative ideas while adapting to change.
