Our work depends on a TS/SCI cleared Linux Systems Engineer joining our team to support our Intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or St. This position supports the Geospatial Services & Solutions business area to provide high-quality, cost-effective solutions to the customer. As part of the GSS Team, the Linux Systems Engineer expertise is needed to support a sophisticated enterprise environment. They are an active participant in SAFe and Scrum development teams and meetings. The systems engineer will be responsible for supporting the customer’s enterprise environment.Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Linux-based infrastructure in both on-prem and virtualized environmentsAdminister, maintain, and optimize Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), including AHV, Prism Central, and Prism Element, to support enterprise Linux workloadsCollaborate with infrastructure teams to provision, configure, and manage virtual machines, storage, networking, and cluster resources within Nutanix environmentsDevelop and maintain automation solutions using Ansible and scripting languages (e.g. Bash and Python)Standardize system configuration, patching, and deployment processes through Infrastructure-as-Code practicesAdminister and support Red Hat ecosystem tools, including Satellite and CapsuleSupport the development of dashboards and observability solutions using tools such as Grafana and ZabbixMonitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Linux systems and Nutanix infrastructure for performance, availability, and capacityTroubleshoot complex systems, virtualization, storage, networking, and integration issues across distributed environmentsDocument system architecture, processes, automation workflows, and infrastructure standardsContribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including automation maturity, platform modernization, and operational best practicesBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience~5+ years of experience administering and engineering Linux systems in enterprise environments, including experience supporting enterprise virtualization platforms such as Nutanix~ Solid understanding of Linux system administration fundamentals (networking, storage, security, and OS internals)~ Strong expertise in configuration management and automation using Ansible~ Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation and tooling~ Hands-on experience administering Nutanix HCI environments, including AHV, Prism Central, Prism Element, virtual machine lifecycle management, storage, networking, and cluster operations~ Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Linux virtual machines in Nutanix environments~ Understanding of virtualization, hypervisor technologies, storage, and networking concepts~ Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure, virtualization, and performance issues~ Experience implementing security best practices in Linux environments~ Experience with monitoring and alerting systems~ Experience with Nutanix advanced capabilities such as Files, Objects, Flow, Calm, or Disaster RecoveryKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration with infrastructure automationExperience with VMware-to-Nutanix migration or hybrid virtualization environmentsAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.Highlights of our benefits include Health/Dental/Vision, 401(k) match, Accrued PTO, STD/LTD/Life Insurance, Referral Bonuses, professional development reimbursement, and more!D2 Technical Services is committed to a merit-based recruitment process and encourages applications from all qualified individuals.
