This position involves maintaining legacy enterprise platforms while contributing to modernization efforts using contemporary technologies such as Spring Boot, microservices, and APIs. The role directly impacts the enhancement and sustainment of applications that support vital government functions.Responsibilities:Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applicationsAnalyze and resolve software defects and production issuesSupport enhancements and sustainment of applications using Java, Spring Framework, Struts, JSP, EJB, JMS, WebLogic, Hibernate, Oracle, and related technologiesDesign and implement REST and SOAP services and integrationsDevelop modern backend services with Java 17+, Spring Boot, microservices, JPA/Hibernate, and REST APIsCollaborate on modernization initiatives with architects and senior developersDevelop and optimize SQL queries and database integrationsParticipate in code reviews and mentor junior developersContribute to automated testing, CI/CD, and application deploymentWork within Agile teams to deliver software solutionsRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience3 to 7 years of software development experienceStrong Java development skillsExperience with Spring Framework and/or Spring BootExperience developing REST APIs and web servicesExperience with Oracle or other relational databasesExperience using Git-based source controlExperience in Agile/Scrum environmentsStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with WebLogic administration or deploymentExperience with Struts, JSP, EJB, JMS, or other enterprise Java technologiesExperience with microservices architecturesExperience with Docker and containerized applicationsExperience with React, JavaScript, or TypeScriptExperience supporting federal government or VA programsExperience with Jira and ConfluencePay Range and Compensation Package:The base salary range for this position is $105,000 to $125,000 annually, depending on geographic work location, relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, security clearance, and contract requirements.Benefits & Perks:Medical, dental, and vision insuranceHealth Savings Account with company contribution when enrolled in eligible planCompany-paid life, accidental death, short-term and long-term disability insuranceVoluntary accident, hospital indemnity, and critical care insuranceVoluntary medical and dependent care flexible spending accountsAccrued paid time off and company paid holidays401(k) retirement plan with company matchEqual Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
