Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing diesel-powered construction equipment. This role is critical to ensuring our equipment operates efficiently and safely, supporting our construction projects. Key Responsibilities: - Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and related equipment. - Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. - Repair and replace defective parts, components, and systems. - Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. - Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work. - Track and manage appropriate level of parts inventory. - Collaborate with equipment operators to identify issues and improve performance. - Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations. - Keep work area clean and organized. - Provide expertise, input and participation to our equipment purchasing (new and used), sales (used) and rental operations. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in diesel technology or related field preferred. - Minimum of 5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic in the construction industry. - Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems. - Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment. - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required. - Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
