Summary:Aquatech is a global leader in water treatment and critical minerals processing technology. The company's 45-year history in process technology has allowed the company to master refining of lithium for various Li-ion battery chemistries. With its recent acquisition of Li-Pro, a commercially proven direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology, Aquatech has developed the PEARL platform (Purification, Extraction, and Refining of Lithium), a full flowsheet solution for lithium extraction from brine to battery-grade quality. Aquatech is working to commercialize the PEARL platform.Currently, Aquatech has an immediate need for a PEARL Project Development - Engineering Intern in our Canonsburg, PA office. The PEARL Project Engineering Intern will report to the PEARL Team Leader and will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered a Non-Exempt employee.Job Description:The intern role will support Aquatech's PEARL team on upcoming lithium and water treatment projects, gaining hands-on exposure to engineering project execution.Key responsibilities include:Learn ISO-9000 project management protocols and support PEARL team with upcoming lithium projectsReview and understand customer technical specificationsRead and understand specification sheets (pumps, tanks, pressure vessels, piping, valves, instruments)Understand ISO-9000 compliance with applicable codes, standards, and industry practicesAssist in preparing the proposal documents/project documentsFacilitate timely engineering reviews of vendor quotationsParticipate in periodic vendor visits to monitor progressCreate and maintain Project Master Document ListsCoordinate collection of inputs for 3D models and assist with resolution of issue tagsTrack and follow up on project action items to ensure timely closureAttend internal and customer meetings; prepare and distribute meeting minutesCreate and distribute monthly PEARL team updatesProvide project status, control, and progress reporting supportLearn and work in Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 as required by the projectSkill Requirements:Proficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and creatively within ambiguous circumstances to achieve objectivesKnowledge with Gantt Chart Development and tools such as Adobe, Bluebeam, or Figma is a plus, but not requiredPrior project management experience is a plus, but not requiredInternship:Aquatech internships are full time, in-office positions (five days per week, 40 hours per week). The internship program is temporary employment that lasts for a maximum duration of ninety (90) days. Successful completion of this internship will provide you with invaluable skills in the water treatment and lithium processing industries and make a compelling addition to your professional journey.
