Job DescriptionThe Texas Public Policy Foundation is seeking a Policy Analyst to lead research and policy development focused on U.S.-Mexico relations, with an emphasis on security, governance, ideology, and transnational threats.About TPPFThe Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit research-based think tank in Austin, Texas. This position will contribute directly and strategically to this work.This role requires a security-first mindset and a demonstrated passion for advancing policies that break the link between foreign terrorist organizations and political actors in Mexico. The ideal candidate brings intellectual rigor, strong writing ability, and a willingness to engage directly in high-impact policy conversations across borders.ResponsibilitiesConduct in-depth research and analysis on U.S.-Mexico policy, including security, Mexican and American governance, and cross-border dynamicsProduce high-quality written work, including research, commentaries, policy briefs, and reportsDraft and publish opinion pieces in national and state media outletsRepresent TPPF in media appearances, public forums, and policy discussionsEngage and liaise with policymakers, government officials, and institutional stakeholdersSupport the development of actionable policy solutions aligned with TPPF prioritiesTravel as needed to represent the Foundation, including in Austin, Washington D.C., and Mexico City.Qualifications:Fluency in Spanish, DELE C1 or equivalent level (required)Demonstrated interest in U.S.-Mexico policy, border security, and governanceStrong academic research and analytical capabilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in public speaking and media engagementHigh level of personal accountability, initiative, and professionalismAbility to translate complex policy issues into clear, compelling arguments for diverse audiencesFamiliarity with Mexican political systems, security dynamics, and transnational criminal organizationsBenefits at TPPF: TPPF values our team members and strives to provide a comprehensive benefits package so that our people can focus on achieving the mission.
