Manufacturing Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract-to-hire position in West Point, Mississippi.Pay Range: $45.00 to $55.00 per hour on W2; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.Job Summary:The Manufacturing Engineer will provide key support in actively improving and driving processes and productivity. This position will support production, as well as improve and support current manufacturing, documentation and processes metrics. It will also contribute to the improvement of existing processes and collaborate with product design teams to achieve design for manufacturability.Responsibilities:Estimate manufacturing cost, determining time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.Work with program management and engineering to ensure facility and processes support new programs and business development.Provides manufacturing with tools and technical engineering support to implement new products and processes into production. Selects, designs, installs, and modifies equipment and fixtures for new product launches and existing products.Supports manufacturing in the resolution of manufacturing issues by providing ongoing manufacturing engineering support.Leads process design functions to determine product flow through the manufacturing cell by use of current engineering and continuous improvement techniques. Establishes resource requirements and material flow using industrial engineering techniques and internal Company standards to establish optimum cell configuration (creation of most efficient manufacturing cell from material inflow, through production, to outflow).Analyzes various product structures and processes in order to eliminate inefficiencies and reduce manufacturing costs. Performs DOE analysis to determine optimum operating parameters by manipulating variables and analyzing how they interact to achieve the most efficient cell measured in terms of processing time, quality and cost.Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of Mechanical, Industrial engineering experience, master's degree preferred.Minimum of 2 year design experience (ProE, AutoCad, SolidWorks- preferably in tooling, fixture and equipment design including plant layout) preferredExperience in NPI, Automation & Analytics, ERP/MES, Bill of Process, Welding, Error ProofingPreferred QualificationsExperience in manufacturing engineering and production challenges - demonstrated ability to scope, design, commission and launch assembly equipment and systems.Knowledgeable in high and low volume manufacturing (APQP, prototyping, GD&T, OEE, equipment and supplier selection, DFM, 8D, process capability, CAD and PLM systems)Proficient in complex electro-mechanical welding, assembly and e-coating-painting & testingProficient in process characterization and validation using statistical tools.Experience creating technical specifications for automated manufacturing equipmentExperience creating process documentation.Experience with 2D & 3D software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks')Critical problem-solving skills: ability to ask the right people, the right questions at the right time in the right way.Detail oriented: ability to be subject matter expert in order to make informed decisions for a variety of cross-functional teams, particularly Controls EngineeringCuriosity: demonstrate level of interest that enables inventivenessStructured: able to organize through methodical framework and documentation to achieve goals harmoniouslyCapable of working as a member of a team across several cross functional disciplines, including product design, quality, construction, production, supply chain, controls, external vendors etc.Pay Details: $45.00 to $55.00 per hourBenefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
