Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Technician to join our dynamic team at Sam's Auto Service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles, with a commitment to providing high-quality service. As an Automotive Technician, you will play a key role in keeping our customers' vehicles running smoothly and ensuring the continued success of our shop. Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical and electrical issues on various makes and models of vehicles. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid level checks. Inspect vehicles and provide detailed reports on necessary repairs and maintenance. Communicate effectively with customers to explain diagnostic findings and recommend repairs or maintenance. Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed, including parts used and labor time. Work with shop management to ensure timely completion of repairs and to meet customer expectations. Stay up-to-date on the latest automotive technologies, repair techniques, and industry standards. Collaborate with other technicians and team members to address complex issues and improve shop efficiency. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to shop safety protocols and procedures. Assist in the training and mentoring of junior technicians and apprentices. Requirements: Proven experience as an automotive technician, with a minimum of 5 years in a professional shop environment. Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and customer service skills. ASE certification (or equivalent) preferred but not required. Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. High school diploma or equivalent (Automotive certification or associate degree preferred). Must have own set of tools. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools (up to 50 lbs). Standing, bending, and working in tight spaces for extended periods.
