Lead Technician

The Lead Technician supports day-to-day shift operations through hands-on technical and operational work while providing on-shift coordination and technical guidance. This role serves as a working lead and on shift point of contact to support operational continuity, safety, and efficiency, while remaining actively engaged in operational and maintenance activities while on shift.Tasks & Responsibilities:Perform hands-on technical, operational, and maintenance workSupport coordination and prioritization of daily work activities based on operational needs and established plansServe as an on-shift technical resource to assist with issue identification, troubleshooting, and real-time problem resolutionComplete daily rounds, equipment checks, and operational logs using approved round sheets, ensuring all entries are accurate, complete, and submitted on time in accordance with compliance requirementsPerform assigned preventive maintenance (PM) tasks in accordance with established schedules and proceduresPerform daily maintenance work orders and record all labor time in SAP, ensuring thorough documentation of maintenance activities, equipment status, work‐order completion, and corrective actions in accordance with established proceduresIdentify equipment, process, or safety issues and communicate findings through established escalation channels, including email and Microsoft Teams, as appropriateVerify assigned work is completed in compliance with safety, quality, and operational standardsProvide on-the-floor clarification of standard operating procedures and job expectations as neededSupport shift changeovers by communicating equipment status, ongoing work, and unresolved issuesAssist with training and onboarding of new team members through hands-on instruction and job shadowingMaintain housekeeping standards and reinforce safe work practices throughout the shiftPerform mandatory shop floor audits to identify hazards and non-compliances and document findings in required EHS system.Document maintenance activities, issues, and corrective actions in required systemsComplete incident investigations and related documentation in the EHS system as assignedReview operational, maintenance, and safety information to identify trends and share observationsEvaluate samples or perform process checks as required to support quality and operational performanceMonitor and respond to email and Microsoft Teams communications during assigned shifts to ensure timely awareness of operational issues, priorities, and updatesPost shift activities, updates, and key information in Microsoft Teams to support cross-shift communication and continuityMaintain required certifications, training, and knowledge qualificationsKnow, understand, and follow all Safety and Environmental (EHS) policies, procedures, and requirementsPerform other duties as assigned to support shift operationsQualifications:Strong working knowledge of industrial operations, equipment, and safe work practices in a production or maintenance environmentMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in production, operations, maintenance, or related technical roles within an industrial settingDemonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issuesExperience operating heavy equipment such as cranes, excavators, skid steers, dozers, manlifts, or similar equipment, as applicable to the siteExperience providing on-the-job guidance, coordination, or task support to coworkers in a shift-based environmentWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and basic reporting toolsAbility to complete operational logs, work orders, incident documentation, and other written records accuratelyAbility to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to support safe operations, clear shift handovers, and accurate documentationAbility to walk long distances and stand for extended periods, and to work in challenging environmental conditions including high temperatures, humidity, noise, dust, and elevated work areas (up to 500 feet), as required by the role
