Job Title: Payroll Accountant (2-3 Days Onsite Only in a Month)Pay Rate: $50 to $56/HrDuration: 6 MonthsLocation: Malvern, PA - Hybrid (Mostly Remote - 2-3 Days Onsite in a Month) - (onsite increases during audits/year‑end)Shift - 1st shift - starts from 8:30 AMWe’re looking for a Payroll Accountant to support a high-impact finance team during a critical period following a recent payroll system migration. This role sits at the intersection of payroll and accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting, clean reconciliations, and well-documented processes.You’ll play a key role in strengthening payroll accounting operations, supporting audits, and helping the team navigate increased workload tied to an upcoming ERP transition. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, digging into discrepancies, and improving financial processes.Perform payroll-to-general ledger (GL) reconciliations and investigate discrepanciesManage payroll GL interface activity and ensure accurate financial postingsPrepare monthly and quarterly journal entries (PTO, bonuses, deferred compensation, relocation, etc.)Support the month-end close with P&L and balance sheet analysisPartner with HR and Finance to ensure accurate payroll-related accountingAssist with internal and external audit requestsDocument processes and help improve payroll accounting workflowsTrack and resolve payroll-related issues across systems and teamsRequirementsBachelor’s in Accounting5+ years of experience in payroll accounting and general accountingStrong understanding of payroll components (earnings, deductions, taxability)Solid accounting foundation (journal entries, debits/credits, GL impact)Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large datasetsAbility to understand end-to-end payroll flow: payroll → cash → GL → financialsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsNice to HaveCPA certificationExperience with tools like Workday (reporting), Access, or KNIMEExposure to audit environments (internal or external)Experience with complex accruals (bonus, PTO, deferred comp, etc.)
