Contract Closeout Specialist I

**Chicago, IL, US****Salary Range:** $20.00 To $23.00 Hourly**STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:** **The primary purpose of this entry level position is to perform non-inherently governmental contract management support services using basic contracting methods and contract types. Performs administrative functions, closeout of contracts and delivery orders below and frequently above the simplified acquisition threshold. Care must be taken by the contract employee to obtain approval, concurrence, and/or signature of the Contracting Officer when it is required, and entails a thorough knowledge of the limitations of non-government employees when assisting in closeout of any contractual vehicle.****Except for the Contracting Officer or other designated federal official as allowed by law, no one may directly accept services, legally bind the government, change or establish contractual terms and conditions, or obligate the government, regarding any contractual agreement. The primary duties of this Contract Close out Specialist position are to perform post-award closeout relative to award of contracts below and frequently above the simplified acquisition threshold. These duties combine clerical functions and technical expertise. Types of procurement vehicles include, but are not limited to, competitive purchase orders and delivery orders and indefinite quantity/indefinite delivery contracts.
