Damage Prevention Technician

DescriptionPosition: Damage Prevention Technician Reports To: Foreman/SuperintendentSummary: Responsible for interacting with contractors and personnel onsite to ensure proper excavation practices are being followed and in adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulationsEssential Qualifications, Duties, and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned) Must have a deep understanding of all aspects of excavation, including but not limited to:Preparation for excavationPermits and notificationsOne Call systemExcavation responsibilities and dangersTools and equipmentSloping requirementsSoil typesProtecting pipe during excavationMeasuring pipe clearanceTolerance zonesPipeline locating and markingOSHA regulations for excavationInspect pipe for damagesPhysical DemandsThe employee must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Damage Prevention Technicians must be willing to comply with PCM Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and regulations.
