Outpatient Surgery Center Registered Nurse (RN)# $10,000 Sign On Bonus!* SUMMARY: This position is filled by a registered nurse who, as a result of educational and in-depth clinical experience in surgical nursing, possesses the advanced knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide expert nursing care; applies expert knowledge to act as a patient advocate, role model and leader; coordinates the care of patients within perioperative services; ensures quality focused and cost-effective care delivery outcomes. This registered nurse utilizes theory, research, and specialized knowledge to plan care for the surgical patient; functions within a collaborative practice to enhance quality of care; interprets, evaluates and communicates research findings; and participates in continuous learning and quality improvement activities. Responsible and accountable for direct patient care for assigned patients in the perioperative unit and providing leadership within the nursing team. Responsible and accountable for the care given to the patient and for the decision regarding which nursing tasks can be safely delegated to licensed and unlicensed persons involved in patient care. Must be proficient in a wide variety of high-level nursing skills. Responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care and promoting a team effort among co-workers. Responsible and accountable to know, own and energize the vision, mission, values and standards of the hospital. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Licensure: Current Arkansas or Compact State RN license in good standing. Experience: 1 year acute care or surgery experience is preferred. Certifications: BLS required. ACLS within the first year of employment and PALS preferred. Safety Sensitive Designation: This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana. This job requires, at various times, the following physical activities; climbing, balancing, stopping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, carrying, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, talking, and hearing, sometimes exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force.# Spends eight hours or more in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse. Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations of CPR and obtaining equipment. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure.# Has a keen sense of hearing and keen visual acuity to respond to critical changing patient situations from actual observations and/or equipment alarms.# May be subject to inside environmental conditions, hazards (including electrical currents and exposure to high heat and chemicals) and infectious diseases. May have to function around prisoners or mental patients.
