Construction Foreman

*Construction Foreman Job Overview* Solo Construction is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on *Construction Foreman* to help lead our field operations throughout California’s Central Valley. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of a jobsite, lead crews, read plans, coordinate subcontractors, maintain quality and safety standards, and keep projects moving on schedule. This is a working leadership position for someone who understands construction in the field and is comfortable jumping in when necessary. Our work includes residential, ADUs, custom homes, commercial construction, concrete, framing, remodels, and other general construction projects. Responsibilities * Lead and supervise construction crews and daily field operations. * Plan daily work and assign tasks to crew members. * Read and interpret *blueprints, construction plans, details, specifications, and schedules*. * Coordinate subcontractors, material deliveries, inspections, and equipment. * Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, code requirements, and company quality standards. * Monitor job progress and communicate schedule, manpower, material, or field issues to management. * Maintain clean, organized, professional, and safe jobsites. * Verify materials and equipment are available before work begins. * Perform layout, measurements, elevations, and basic field calculations as required. * Identify conflicts or discrepancies in plans before work is installed. * Assist with framing, concrete, layout, demolition, and general construction when needed. * Coordinate with inspectors and help prepare projects for inspections. * Document jobsite progress with photos and daily updates. * Track employee hours and manpower when required. * Maintain company tools and equipment. * Enforce OSHA and company safety requirements. * Communicate professionally with homeowners, project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, suppliers, and other trades. * Help train and develop less-experienced crew members. * Maintain productivity while ensuring work is performed correctly the first time. Requirements * *Minimum 5 years of construction experience required.* * Strong experience in *wood framing and concrete construction required.* * Working knowledge of *electrical and plumbing is highly preferred* and considered a major plus. * Previous experience as a *Foreman, Lead Carpenter, Crew Leader, Superintendent, or similar field leadership position preferred.* * Must be able to *read and understand construction blueprints and plans.* * Must understand construction sequencing from foundation through completion. * Must be comfortable supervising multiple workers and subcontractors. * Strong knowledge of construction safety and proper jobsite practices. * Must be able to perform layout, measurements, and basic construction calculations. * Must be dependable, organized, punctual, and able to work independently. * Must have a *valid driver's license and clean driving record.* * Must have reliable transportation to and from jobsites. * *Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.* * Familiarity with *Modesto, Turlock, Manteca, Stockton, Patterson, Oakdale and the surrounding Central Valley* is a plus. * Experience working with building inspectors and preparing work for inspections is a plus. * Must be comfortable using a smartphone for job photos, plans, communication, and construction applications. Tools & Equipment Candidate should have *most basic personal hand tools and standard tools expected of an experienced construction foreman/tradesman.* Solo Construction will provide *heavy-duty tools, specialty equipment, machinery, and larger company equipment* required for the work. Employees are expected to properly maintain and care for company-provided tools and equipment. Company Vehicle & Gas Card A *company work truck and gas card may be provided after approximately 90 days*, based on job performance, reliability, driving record, position requirements, and company approval. The employee must maintain an acceptable driving record and properly care for any company vehicle and equipment assigned to them. The right person should be able to walk onto a jobsite, understand the plans, organize the crew, identify what needs to happen next, and keep the project moving without needing constant direction.
