Tool and Die Maker

Responsibility Correct and improve tooling, jigs and fixtures for which responsibility is assigned: Develop, constructs, and alters a wide variety of jigs, fixtures, and gauges. Performs assignments ranging from the use of ordinary tool room operations, to work involving accurate relationships, and extremely close tolerances. Also, reconstruct/repairs and selecting the proper materials. Makes allowances for shrinkage during the heat-treating of tools and metal flows in dies. Identifies and corrects problems in complicated dies and tools. Qualifications Certificate in Progressive Die & Design from industry accredited program; Three (3) to Five (5) years professional experience in tool and Die and Machining in the related field. Experience in Tool and Die Welding. Leadership Ensure compliance to all safety procedures. Assist with associate skill development if assigned by Coordinator. Model and mentor proper process procedures and die or tool problem solving. Service Help train associates in tooling and machining operations. Assist with die or tool repair planning. Complete all tool work orders and other documentation as required. Maintain continuous improvement of all assigned tooling. Support IATF-16949 requirements. Assist in maintaining professional communications within team and other facility teams. Operations Confirm accuracy in die usage for production operation. Monitor product quality. Manage die maintenance area documentation. Manage ordering of all die maintenance supplies, replacement die parts, and maintaining stock on these items. Actively maintain 5s organization throughout the tool shop. Other duties assigned by Area Manager. *Pay based on experience.
