In this role, you will collaborate directly with General Counsel and leadership to navigate complex regulatory landscapes, influence key decisions, and ensure the company operates with integrity across every touchpoint. You will have primary responsibility for one or more of the below activities and provide backup support for others: Serve as a trusted advisor on federal and state consumer finance laws to include lending, disclosures, servicing, collections, and fair lendingLead responses to regulatory inquiries, examinations, and agency communications (including the CFPB)Investigate and resolve escalated customer complaints with legal and compliance implicationsHelp drive compliance with data privacy and data security regulationsReview and strengthen company policies, procedures, and internal controlsCollaborate cross-functionally with Customer Relations, Marketing, Operations, and external counselReview and approve marketing materials, training content, and customer communications for complianceConsistent and reliable attendance is expectedWhat You Need to SucceedJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (South Carolina preferred)3+ years of legal experience (law firm, in-house, or government), ideally in financial services or a regulated environmentStrong knowledge of consumer laws such as FCRA and TCPA, and related regulationsAbility to translate complex legal requirements into practical business guidanceExcellent writing, analytical, and communication skillsDetail-oriented with strong follow-through and sound judgementComfortable working cross-functionally with diverse teams and stakeholdersTech-savvy with Microsoft Office; experience with Westlaw or LexisNexis preferredSpanish language skills are a plusOther duties, as assignedWhat Sets You ApartExperience supporting closed-end secured and unsecured lending productsFamiliarity with compliance systems and credit reporting frameworksCertifications such as IAPP (CIPM or US)Why You Will Love Working With UsSecurity Finance offers a workplace built on stability, respect, and long-term opportunity.
