Job Description: Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups to include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice, the goals of Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare, HIPAA regulations, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, and the Code of Professional and Business Ethics. Accountable for, but not limited to, performance improvement activities, infection control guidelines and safety measures.# Maintains current licensure, annual competencies, BLS, ACLS, PALS as required. Completes the patient admission documentation, including problem-focused assessment, medical history, medication reconciliation, fall risk screening and patient teaching.# Exhibits the ability and initiative to prioritize patient care; initiating and revising care plans as needed.# Provides support and education in a professional manner that is well-received by team members and students License # Certifications:# Missouri state RN licensure in good standing Basic Life Support (BLS) ACLS preferred within six (6) months of hire. The RN is responsible for delegating patient care tasks and for supervision of other patient care staff. The RN is responsible for coordinating the care of patients and consulting other disciplines of the healthcare team as indicated. The RN functions collaboratively with the medical staff and the other disciplines to provide and enhance patient care. The RN adheres to all nursing policies and proactively strives to maintain and improve quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for facilitating patient care, anticipating patient care needs, individualizing patient care and adjusting or modifying the nursing plan of care as appropriate.
