A-TEK is seeking an AI Market Research Analyst to support federal business development by identifying, analyzing, and tracking contract opportunities across the federal marketplace.
This role combines structured research, federal market analysis, and practical use of AI tools to improve how we identify and evaluate opportunities. You will help the Growth team move faster and make more informed decisions by turning complex data into clear, actionable insights.
This is an entry-level role with growth potential for candidates who demonstrate strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and the ability to effectively apply AI tools in real-world workflows. This is a hybrid role based in McLean, VA.
Key Responsibilities
Federal Opportunity Research
Identify and track federal contract opportunities (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, Sources Sought, recompetes) across SAM.gov, GovWin, GSA eBuy, and agency forecasts
Monitor relevant agencies and align opportunities to A-TEK's capabilities and strategic priorities
Summarize solicitation requirements, timelines, and key evaluation factors using AI-assisted tools
Opportunity Analysis & Prioritization
Support evaluation of opportunities based on strategic fit, timing, contract vehicle, incumbency, and probability of win
Identify incumbents, competitors, and potential partners
Develop concise opportunity summaries and briefs to support internal decision-making
Maintain accurate and up-to-date opportunity records in Salesforce CRM
Track key lifecycle milestones including forecast release, solicitation, proposal deadlines, and awards
Ensure data quality, consistency, and completeness across pipeline records
AI-Assisted Research & Continuous Improvement
Use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, GovWin AI features) to improve research speed and insight quality
Apply structured prompts and repeatable approaches to summarize and analyze information
Contribute to improving internal research workflows and efficiency over time
Research agency missions, spending trends, and procurement patterns
Track competitor activity and major contract awards
Support development of market intelligence summaries and reports
Reporting & Team Support
Support preparation of pipeline reports and dashboards for Growth leadership
Provide research support to capture and proposal teams as needed
Participate in team meetings and contribute to pipeline discussions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Public Policy, Political Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
0–2 years of experience in market research, federal contracting, business development, or data analysis
Interest in federal procurement and government contracting
Familiarity with or willingness to learn Salesforce CRM
Experience using or willingness to learn AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity)
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to federal procurement platforms (SAM.gov, GovWin, GSA eBuy, USAspending)
Basic understanding of federal contract vehicles (GWACs, IDIQs, BPAs)
Interest or experience in applying AI tools to research or business workflows
Exposure to capture management or proposal processes
The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
