Job Description Network Engineer VTarget Salary: $115K to $125KLOCATION: DLIFLC, 1759 Lewis Road, Monterey, CA 93944Position Overview:The person in this position will be the onsite Extreme Networks engineer managing the Extreme Networks, who possess a combination of experience, skills, and qualifications.Job Duties:Manage network related projects, including planning, implementation, and documentation, including network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure expansions.Troubleshooting complex network issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions.Attend and conduct meetings with other departments for integrated solutions.Speak to and translate complex technical terminology to higher level authorities.Train networking team on Extreme Network changes, processes and best practicesInterface, work with, and assist customers and peers with customer services best practices.Perform after hours maintenance windows.Ability to lift and implement devices at 30 lbs.Job Requirements:Educational requirements include BA/BS from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5+ years, AA/AS with 7+ years' experience or substitute with 9+years of relevant experience working with network infrastructure, with focus on Extreme Networks products and solutions.Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including but not limited to LAN, WAN, routing, switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security. Experience with deployment and administration of routing, switching, wireless, firewall technologies, load balancing, and protocolsCertified to work on Extreme Networks products, such as switches, routers, access points, and network management tools.Shall possess a combination of experience and skills with the following manufacturers and applications:VMware NSX: Install, Configure, Manage (V6.2)Ruckus Layer 2 Switches / Wireless Controller / Wireless Access PointsPalo Alto Networks Firewall knowledge of PA-7050 / PA-3060 / PA-3260 / PA-5450 / WildFire/URL FilteringBrocade MPLS Implementation Layer 2 and Layer 3 switchesCisco Networks switches and routersAruba Networks Excellent knowledge of Wireless Controllers / Access Points / Airwave / ClearPassCiena 100G OME 6500 DWDM SystemExtreme Networks Layer 2/3, MLXE Switches /Extreme IQ / OSPF, BGP, and MPLSSolarWinds, InMon Sentinel, Uptrends.Required to Start Qualifications:IAT Level II (CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) Certification and applicable Computing Environment/Operating System Certification is required to Start.Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent network vendor certificate is required to Start.A Secret Clearance is required to Start.Company DescriptionDexian Government Solutions is an award-winning, ISO 9001:2015 certified, business and GSA contract holder providing diversified Information Technology services to both Civilian and Defense agencies.
