Python Developer — Web Scraping & Automation
*Job Summary*
*Full-Stack Automation Developer — Web Scraping, Ticket Data & AI (Python/JS)*
Full-time, in office — [LONG ISLAND/WOODMERE, NY 11598] Salary: $100,000–$160,000 based on experience — with raises tied directly to the impact you make on the company
We're a data-driven ticket brokerage trading on the secondary market. We build our own tools: data pipelines that watch prices and inventory across marketplaces, internal dashboards for trading decisions, and alert systems that tell us when to act. Everything so far was built by the founder using AI coding tools — you'd be the first dedicated developer, hardening and extending real, running systems rather than starting from a blank repo.
*What you'll work on:*
* Data pipelines pulling pricing and inventory from ticket marketplaces and B2B exchanges (StubHub, Ticket Evolution, Mercury, TickPick and similar) — handling auth, pagination, rate limits, and bot protection (DataDome-class defenses are an active problem here, not a hypothetical)
* Internal web dashboards: open positions matched against live inventory with fee-normalized pricing and buy links; a Google Sheets–driven alert app with configurable thresholds, email and calendar alerts, usable from a phone
* Stabilizing and extending an existing React/Node web app deployed on Vercel/Netlify — disciplined bug-fix work before new features
* Keeping an existing ML data pipeline fed: data prep, feature updates, backtest support (pandas; the modeling is done — you keep the data flowing and clean)
* Using AI throughout: our codebases are built with Claude Code, and we use LLM APIs for parsing messy data and automation
*Must have:*
* Strong Python, plus enough JavaScript/Node/React to work on our web apps — you don't need to be a designer
* Real experience scraping protected, high-security sites — you can talk specifics about proxies, sessions, fingerprinting, and what you've done when DataDome/Cloudflare-class protection shut you down
* Comfortable finding a site's underlying API through browser dev tools, and equally comfortable integrating documented REST APIs
* A track record of automations that ran unattended for months — scheduling, logging, retries, alerts when things break
* Able to read, debug, and harden AI-generated code — not just generate more of it
*Nice to have:*
* Ticket industry background: SkyBox, marketplace seller APIs, pricing tools
* Google Sheets / Apps Script
* Playwright or similar browser automation
* pandas / ML pipeline literacy (we use gradient-boosting models)
* LLM/agent orchestration experience (multi-provider setups)
* Vercel/Netlify deployment; geojson or mapping data
Our environment: Windows, PowerShell, VS Code, GitHub, Claude Code.
Note: This role is data collection and monitoring on the secondary market only — no checkout automation on primary ticketing sites.
*To apply:* Email [YOUR EMAIL] with answers to these three questions. Applications without them won't be reviewed.
* What's the hardest bot protection you've dealt with (DataDome, Akamai, Cloudflare, PerimeterX), and how did you keep your pipeline working?
* What's the longest one of your automations ran in production without you touching it?
* Describe or link something you built end-to-end — bonus if AI tools were part of how you built it, and double bonus if you inherited someone else's codebase and made it stable.
Pay: $110,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
