SAP Techno/Functional DeveloperTechno-Functional resource specializing in SAP MM (Materials Management), IM (Inventory Management), and PIR (Purchase Info Records). The resource must be able to design and configure the Procure-to-Pay (PTP) lifecycle with a focus on inventory accuracy.Inventory Management (IM): Mastery of movement types (e.g., 101, 201, 311, 561), physical inventory processes, cycle counting, and transfer postings.Purchase Info Records (PIR): Deep understanding of ME11/ME12 transactions. They must know how to manage pricing scales, conditions, and how the PIR integrates with Purchase Orders (PO) and Quotations.MM Configuration: Expertise in the Material Master, Vendor Master, and Sourcing (Source Lists and Quota Arrangements).Special Stocks: Experience with Subcontracting, Consignment, and Pipeline procurement types.Technical Expertise (The "System" Side): As a "Techno-Functional" resource, they shouldn't just know which buttons to click; they need to understand the underlying architecture.ABAP Debugging: The ability to step through code to find root causes of errors in custom reports or enhancements.Data Migration: Proficiency with LSMW (Legacy System Migration Workbench) or the newer S/4HANA Migration Cockpit (LTMC) for uploading thousands of PIRs or opening stock.RICEFW Development: Writing detailed Functional Specifications for Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows.Integration (EDI/IDocs): Understanding how inventory data moves between SAP and external 3PL (Third Party Logistics) or vendor systems via IDocs (Intermediate Documents).Since SAP is pushing heavily toward the Cloud and S/4HANA in 2026, a top-tier resource should also have:Fiori Knowledge: Ability to use and troubleshoot Fiori apps for Inventory Management (e.g., "Stock – Single Material" or "Monitor Material Coverage").PIR Automation: Knowledge of how PIRs are automatically updated via "Info Update" indicators in modern S/4HANA environments.Embedded Analytics: Using CDS (Core Data Services) views to create real-time inventory dashboards without needing a separate BI/BW system.
