TitleChief Accounting Officer (CAO)Salary$160,000–$180,000Location:3 days in BostonWhy This Opportunity Stands Out High-impact executive leadership role reporting directly to the CFO with full ownership of the accounting function Opportunity to step into a growing organization preparing for significant portfolio expansion Ability to build, lead, and shape the accounting team and infrastructure during a key growth phase True “number two” role with visibility into strategic decisions and deal activity Opportunity to create structure, enhance processes, and elevate the overall finance organization Hybrid schedule with 3 days in office in Boston alongside a collaborative leadership teamChief Accounting Officer Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the accounting team, driving accountability, performance, and continuous improvement Oversee all financial reporting, including investor reporting and external stakeholder requirements Manage HUD / residential real estate accounting, compliance, and regulatory reporting Partner closely with the CFO on cash flow management, financial strategy, and scaling the finance functionChief Accounting Officer Qualifications 10+ years of progressive accounting experience within real estate, with residential / HUD exposure highly preferred Proven executive leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams Strong background in financial reporting for investors and external stakeholders Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or Master’s preferred#INMAY2026
