Cloud Network Engineer
We’re looking for a skilled Cloud Network Engineer to help design and implement a modern hybrid and multi-cloud network environment across major hyperscalers and private cloud. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex connectivity challenges, shaping scalable architecture, and partnering across teams to support secure, high-performing networking solutions.ResponsibilitiesDesign and support hybrid and multi-cloud network architectures across AWS, Azure, OCI, and private cloud environmentsLead integration of Cisco SD-WAN across data centers, branch locations, and cloud platformsPlan and optimize private and cloud connectivity, including backbone routing, private circuits, VPNs, and cloud on-rampsSupport network governance, lifecycle management, and compliance requirements in regulated environmentsStrengthen security through segmentation, private endpoints, cloud-native controls, and identity-aware access approachesDevelop and maintain infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormationImprove visibility and troubleshooting through telemetry, flow logs, SD-WAN analytics, and monitoring tools such as SolarWindsCollaborate with cloud, security, and infrastructure teams to support modernization and network transformation initiativesArchitect and maintain Cisco ACI fabrics, including tenant design, contracts, service graphs, and multipod or multisite environmentsSupport Layer 2 extension, routing, load balancing, and high-availability network designsDrive routing strategy using protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EVPN across cloud and on-premises environmentsLead root-cause analysis and resolution of complex networking issues across hybrid infrastructureSkills8+ years of enterprise networking experience with strong hybrid and multi-cloud knowledgeHands-on experience designing network solutions across AWS, Azure, and OCIStrong understanding of routing, peering, transit, and backbone connectivity in multi-cloud environmentsExperience with hybrid connectivity methods such as private circuits, hyperscaler backbones, VPNs, and SD-WANDeep knowledge of Cisco SD-WAN, including vManage, vBond, vSmart, templates, and policy designWorking knowledge of BGP and OSPFExperience with cloud security controls, segmentation, encryption, and identity-aware accessAbility to design resilient, fault-tolerant network architectures across distributed environmentsStrong communication skills with the ability to explain technical decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiencesFamiliarity with Zero Trust concepts and modern network security principlesPreferred SkillsIndustry certifications such as CCNP, cloud networking certifications, or Cisco SD-WAN SpecialistExperience with SASE solutions and cloud firewall or network virtual appliance deploymentsBackground supporting cloud migration or modernization programsKnowledge of hybrid and multi-cloud DNS architecturesExperience using CI/CD pipelines for network automation and deploymentFamiliarity with Kubernetes networking across cloud providersExperience working with A10, AVI/NSX ALB, or cloud-native load balancing solutionsAbility to document standards, reference architectures, and repeatable network design patternsHorizontal is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace where people of all backgrounds can thrive.
