This internship provides hands-on experience supporting workplace safety initiatives within a construction environment. The Safety Intern assists in promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture by helping implement safety policies and procedures, conducting site observations, and supporting compliance with regulatory and company standards.Forgen is a leading geotechnical and specialty civil construction company operating across North America and is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions for complex civil, geotechnical, and environmental challenges, guided by our core values of integrity, passion, teamwork, and smart work.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Program Administration: Update project safety plan and procedures, maintain documentation to improve safety performance, track program effectiveness and recommend improvements.Regulatory Compliance: Assist with regulatory reporting, record-keeping, and audits; monitor regulatory updates and integrate into project plans; ensure compliance with various agencies (e.g., OSHA).Data Management and Reporting: Maintain safety dashboards and performance metrics; compile monthly statistics for site management; track leading indicators such as observations, training, and inspections; support analysis of trends to identify risk areas.Basic QualificationsCandidates must be working toward a BS degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.Valid driver's license and ability to drive on behalf of company business.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentThis office and field hybrid role requires frequent computer use and effective communication.
