Our team designs, develops, and supports highly engineered solutions for customers across a range of industrial markets. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a talented Controls Engineer to join our engineering team.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PLC programmer with strong electrical knowledge who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working directly with customers, and contributing to innovative industrial control solutions.Reporting directly to the Vice President of Engineering, the Controls Engineer will be responsible for the design, programming, commissioning, and support of control systems used in industrial boiler applications. You will join a collaborative engineering team of three and play a key role in delivering projects from concept through startup.The ideal candidate combines strong PLC programming expertise with a solid understanding of industrial electrical systems and field commissioning.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop PLC-based control systems for industrial boiler and combustion equipmentProgram, test, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and related control hardwareCreate and maintain electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and technical documentationSupport system commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities at customer facilitiesWork closely with engineering, manufacturing, and customers to ensure successful project executionProvide technical support for installed systems and assist with system upgrades and improvementsParticipate in factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT)Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, codes, and safety requirementsAssist in the continuous improvement of controls standards and engineering processesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Controls Engineering, or equivalent experience3+ years of PLC programming experience in an industrial environmentStrong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, and instrumentationExperience reading and creating electrical schematics and wiring diagramsAbility to troubleshoot electrical and control system issues both remotely and onsiteWillingness to travel to customer sites as neededMust reside within a 2-hour commute of Valparaiso, IndianaPreferredExperience with industrial boiler, combustion, burner management, or process heating systemsExperience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation PLCs and FactoryTalk productsFamiliarity with Siemens PLC platformsKnowledge of VFDs, motor controls, instrumentation, and industrial networkingExperience with UL, NFPA, and industrial safety standardsField commissioning and startup experienceWhat We OfferCompetitive salary up to $120,000Flexible remote work environmentOpportunity to work on complex industrial systems and customer-facing projectsSmall, highly collaborative engineering team with significant technical influenceDirect access to leadership and opportunities for professional growthTravel opportunities and exposure to diverse industrial applicationsIf you're a hands-on controls professional who enjoys both programming and real-world industrial problem-solving, we'd love to hear from you.
