Whether assisting with product demos or guiding shoppers through their selections, you’ll play a vital part in delivering a seamless retail experience. Duties Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service to enhance their shopping experience. Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges efficiently. Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties with precision. Assist customers with product inquiries, upselling opportunities, and product demos to maximize sales. Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, ensuring merchandise is well-stocked and properly displayed through merchandising and stocking tasks. Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with stock replenishment. Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or providing support over the phone. Engage customers with friendly communication skills, actively listening to their needs and offering helpful solutions. Promote store promotions and upselling opportunities to increase sales while ensuring customer satisfaction. Assist in maintaining a tidy store environment by organizing shelves and ensuring products are correctly priced and labeled. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations in a fast-paced retail environment. Participate in product demos to educate customers about new or featured items, enhancing their shopping experience. Support team supervision tasks when needed, including training new staff or mentoring peers. Skills Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering responsibilities in a retail or grocery store setting. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively. Excellent phone etiquette for handling inquiries courteously over the phone. Demonstrated upselling skills to promote products confidently without being pushy. Knowledge of merchandising, stocking procedures, and inventory management techniques. Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations. Experience supervising or leading team members is preferred but not required; leadership qualities are valued. Ability to perform cashiering duties efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during busy periods.
