Company: Contour Data Solutions, LLCRole: DevOps Engineer – Contour CloudLocation: Remote / Hybrid (US‑based preferred)Department: Cloud & Infrastructure EngineeringReports To: Head of Engineering / Infrastructure/CloudSalary Range: $150K-$200KRole OverviewContour Data Solutions is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support and evolve Contour Cloud, our private and hybrid cloud platform, and to work closely with the Cinch Software development team on cloud orchestration and platform automation.This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, software development, network engineering, and storage platforms, with a heavy emphasis on Linux-based systems, virtualization, automation, and observability. The ideal candidate is hands-on, infrastructure-first, and comfortable bridging development and operations in a production cloud environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCloud & Platform EngineeringDesign, deploy, and maintain Linux-based cloud infrastructure supporting ContourCloud workloadsBuild and automate cloud deployments, platform services, and infrastructure workflows through scripting and codeSupport and enhance virtualization platforms, with a primary focus on Xen/XCP-ng; VMware, NSX and vSphere experienceBuild, deploy, and maintain physical and virtual server platformsCinch Software IntegrationWork daily with Cinch Software to:Enable cloud orchestration and automationEnsure reliable cloud deployments and management workflowsImprove integration between software-driven automation and infrastructure realiDevOps & AutomationCollaborate closely with the Cinch Software development team to support:Cloud orchestrationPlatform integrationDeployment automationInfrastructure-as-Code–style workflowsDevelop and maintain automation using scripting and programming languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Go, etc.)Improve deployment consistency, reliability, and repeatability across environmentsNetworking & IP ManagementWork directly with the Network Engineering team on:IP address management (IPAM)Network provisioning and lifecycleCloud and data center network integrationLeverage NetBox for IPAM, DCIM, and infrastructure modelingMonitoring, Observability & OperationsImplement and maintain monitoring and observability platforms including:Zabbix for infrastructure monitoringGrafana for visualization and dashboardsAssist in capacity planning, performance tuning, and fault analysisParticipate in platform reliability and operational readiness initiativesStorage & SystemsDesign, build, and maintain server and storage platforms, including:ZFS-based storage architecturesTrueNAS (Core or SCALE) platformsSupport data integrity, performance, and scalability requirements across cloud and customer environmentsRequired Skills & ExperienceStrong Linux systems administration experience (required)Proven experience with:Scripting and automationInfrastructure or platform engineering in production environmentsHands-on experience with:Xen virtualizationXCP-ng (preferred)VMware NSX & vSphere Experience Working WithNetBox (IPAM / DCIM)ZabbixGrafanaExperience Building And SupportingPhysical serversVirtual infrastructureZFS-based storage platformsTrueNASAbility to work cross-functionally with:Software development teamsNetwork engineering teamsInfrastructure and operations teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience in private cloud or MSP environmentsFamiliarity with cloud orchestration and self-service platform designUnderstanding of DevOps best practices across infrastructure and application lifecyclesStrong documentation and communication skillsExperience supporting multi-tenant or customer-facing platformsHow This Role Is DifferentNot a pure CI/CD or app DevOps roleNot isolated infrastructure engineeringThis is a platform DevOps role, tightly coupled to:Product-driven cloud orchestration (Cinch)Real production infrastructureNetworking, storage, and observabilityWhy Contour Cloud?Work on a real, production private cloud platformDirect impact on cloud architecture, automation, and platform designTight collaboration with product development around Cinch SoftwareEngineering-first culture with deep infrastructure expertise
