Lab Assistant

Schedule
Full-time | Monday – Friday | 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Includes one-hour unpaid lunch)
Pay
Starting at $18 per hour, based on education and experience

What You'll Do
Support Lab Operations
Assist clinical lab and technical staff with pre-analytical laboratory processes
Support daily laboratory workflows to ensure timely and accurate testing
Phlebotomy & Specimen Handling
Perform phlebotomy procedures
Receive, label, and properly handle specimens
Prepare and manage laboratory send-out specimens
Administrative & Computer Tasks
Perform order entry and clerical/computer-based duties
Maintain accurate documentation to support laboratory operations
Quality & Accuracy
Follow established laboratory procedures to ensure specimen integrity and accurate results
Maintain attention to detail in all aspects of work
Adapt and Grow
Learn new laboratory processes and systems
Take on additional responsibilities as skills and knowledge develop
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Laboratory, phlebotomy, or healthcare experience preferred but not required
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Highly dependable with consistent and reliable attendance
Motivated, quick learner with interest in clinical laboratory work
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and move throughout the laboratory for extended periods
Manual dexterity to handle specimens, lab tools, and computer equipment
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Visual and auditory ability to read labels, identify specimens, and communicate clearly
Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to access laboratory equipment and supplies

This position involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues. Employees performing these duties are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis B vaccination series.
