Setup and prove out of programs to safely and accurately machine complex parts to print specifications. This position is in a collective bargaining Union. Must become a member of the local collective bargaining unit upon hire. Must be willing to train on first shift until fully qualified.Operation of high precision equipment producing complex components to meet customer requirements and production schedule deadlinesResponsible for safely loading material into machine, loading and measuring necessary tooling and proving out conversational and G code programsThe CNC operator produces critical parts for the Large Motor product line and reports directly to the Production SupervisorEnsure that all projects are completed safely, correctly and meet or surpass all customer expectations. Follow and promote all safety and quality directives in support of the company's commitment to be the industry's premier service provider to our clients.ResponsibilitiesSafe Set-up and operation of CNC machine, recording measurements using precision instruments, and producing high tolerance componentsProve out new programs created by engineer for accuracy, efficiency, safety, and qualityLoading / unloading necessary tools into machine and enter tool length offsetsDetermine tool wear offsetsInterpret drawingsMake feed and speed adjustments to program for optimized run timesMaintain a clean work area and perform all duties safely in accordance with company and OSHA guidelinesConduct daily checks of machine to ensure functionalityMaterial handling using cranes and walk behind trucksRecord all dimensions of completed parts in labor packetRequired Knowledge/Skills, Education, and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent3+ years operating and set-up experience of CNC lathes and/or mill-turn machinesAbility to recognize improper machine and tool performanceProficient with understanding G&M codeAbility to use and read micrometers and depth gauges and dial indicatorsKnowledge of decimal and metric systemUnderstanding of Geometric Dimensioning and ToleranceHave a high mechanical aptitude with good math skillsPreferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and ExperienceExperience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathesSiemens 840D control experience a plusAbility to work with minimal supervision and be self-drivenThe pay range for this position is $33.76. The shift differential for working second shift is $1.00.
