Job SummarySenior Software Engineer – responsible for owning complex engineering problems from discovery through production, across product, infrastructure and cross‐team delivery.What You'll DoDesign and build reliable services, APIs, and product‐facing workflows.Work across backend systems, UI surfaces, event processing, and third‐party integrations.Translate unclear business or customer problems into concrete technical plans.Own production behavior, including monitoring, alerting, logging, debugging, and runbooks.Collaborate with product, design, infrastructure, support, and other engineering teams.Improve quality through tests, code review, observability, and simpler designs.Use data and production evidence to validate decisions.Take ownership of incidents and production issues when systems do not behave as expected.Who You Are5+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend skills in Java, Scala, Kotlin, Go, or a similar language.Experience owning ambiguous technical work across multiple layers of a system, from backend services to product‐facing frontend workflows.Comfortable with distributed systems, event‐driven flows, caching, retries, rate limits, and the ways production systems can fail.Proven experience building APIs, services, and integrations, backed by solid SQL and data‐driven product decisions.Hands‐on knowledge of at least one cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or similar) and event systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pub/Sub.Strong automated testing practices, thoughtful code review, and use of logs, metrics, dashboards, and tracing to understand system behavior in production.Composed production debugger who stays calm during incidents and can explain trade‐offs to engineers and non‐engineers.Bias toward simple, reliable solutions that other engineers can operate without you in the room.Ownership mindset: ask what problem you are solving before jumping to implementation, validate risky assumptions early, and escape when scope or risk is unclear.Comfort with security, process, and production safety; does not take shortcuts.Nice to have: React/TypeScript or similar frontend experience, merchant‐ or customer‐facing product work, third‐party integrations (OAuth, account linking, external APIs), Redis/caching/queues at scale, or experience with analytics and event data products.Compensation & BenefitsPay Transparency Range: $115,566.00–$195,443.00Compensation will be adjusted for experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
