Our busy home health agency is seeking an experienced home health aide to assist our case managers in implementing patient-specific care plans.You’ll give our patients companionship and help with basic medical care, light housekeeping duties, personal care, and hygiene tasks so that they are empowered to live happily at home. You must have 1-3 years of experience as an HHA or caregiver and possess excellent communication skills. If you enjoy a position that is varied and rewarding every day, we want to hear from you!Compensation$16 - $20 hourlyResponsibilitiesProvide personal care tasks such as calling doctors’ offices, scheduling appointments, and coordinating Medicare and other insurance detailsTake care of light housekeeping tasks including but not limited to vacuuming, bed making, laundry, etc. Ensure quality companionship and provide psychological and emotional support for patients and family membersDrive patients as needed, for grocery shopping, running errands, or doctors’ visits, when necessarySupervise medications and assist patient in organizing, refilling, and taking medications, as well as meal planning and preparationAdminister Medications Dispense medications as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN), maintaining an annual error rate of no more than one mistakeResident Response Attend to any and all resident call lights within 10 minutes to ensure responsive and attentive careLight Housekeeping Perform regular light housekeeping in resident rooms at least once weekly to promote a clean and comfortable living spaceKeep each room up to high standards of sanitization by changing bedpans and sheets, and performing regular room cleaningService Charting Accurately document all services provided without missing tasks, ensuring compliance with company standardsAssistance with ADLs Support residents in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) according to each individual’s Client Service Plan, with a zero-tolerance policy for missed tasksGive patient support with basic care, daily living activities, bathing, getting dressed, going to the restroom, eating regular meals, and taking proper medication dosagesActivities Encourage and initiate activities to enhance residents' mental and physical health and promote socializationQualificationsA valid state driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance is requiredExcellent communication and organizational skills are valuable, as is a compassionate, empathetic, and kind personalitySome college preferred, but a high school diploma or GED is requiredConclusion of home health aide training programs from community colleges are acceptable - Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) is a bonusOver one year of experience as a personal caregiver, HHA/ home health aide, personal care aid, or nursing assistant for a home health agency, at patient homes, or care facilities settings is vitalTotal Ownership Takes control of outcomes, removes obstacles to success, no excusesResourcefulness Finds ways to achieve results despite a lack of resources, able to self-educateBig Why The driving force behind your career is the passionate care for vulnerable adultsGrowth Has habits that lead to small improvements in self and team every dayHumility Puts ego aside, accepts criticism, and finds the best solution in all situationsReliability Show Up Able to be trusted when neededGratitude Intentionally looks for, thinks about, and talks about the good in any situationA compassionate, kind, and empathetic personality is essential, with superb organization and communication skillsAbility to work every other weekendCBRF Certifications or willingness to obtain them during employmentCurrent CNA licenseAbout CompanyVitaCare Living is a community-based residential facility (CBRF) dedicated to adding LIFE to the years of our residents and staff through compassionate, person-centered care.
