Senior Software Engineer – BackendThis role builds and evolves backend systems that support our Assignment Workflow core capabilities. Engineers solve complex, scalable problems and collaborate closely with frontend engineers, designers, and product managers.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services.Work with serverless architecture using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, Step Functions.Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven systems within microservice architecture.Optimize existing services for performance and cost-efficiency.Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate backend services with frontend applications.Conduct code reviews and troubleshoot complex technical issues in production.Champion code quality, testing, and monitoring best practices.Contribute to technical discussions shaping the product.Qualifications5+ years of backend development experience, preferably with distributed systems or microservices.Strong Java skills and Maven proficiency.Solid experience with AWS serverless services.Familiar with event-driven architecture and microservice design.Experience with DynamoDB or a strong foundation in NoSQL.Proficient in developing automated tests for backend services.Comfortable with Git and GitHub workflows.Analytical mindset and strong troubleshooting skills.Effective communicator and team collaborator.CompensationThe expected annual base salary range for this position is $112,125/year to $186,875/year. This position is bonus eligible.
