Our company oversees a growing portfolio of residential and commercial properties across New York and New Jersey, managing all aspects of acquisition, development, construction, and ongoing property operations.We are seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper with a strong background in real estate accounting to manage day-to-day financial operations and support ownership with accurate reporting and financial controls.Position OverviewThe Full-Charge Bookkeeper will be responsible for overseeing the complete accounting cycle for multiple entities and properties, including property management accounting, development tracking, and financial reporting. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience working within a real estate environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple real estate entities and propertiesMaintain general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliationsHandle accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor payments and tenant billingProcess rent rolls, CAM reconciliations, and property operating expensesPerform monthly bank and credit card reconciliationsPrepare monthly financial statements and internal reporting packagesTrack development and construction project costs and budgetsCoordinate with property managers, contractors, and ownership on financial mattersAssist with year-end closing and coordination with external CPA firmsMaintain organized financial records and documentationMonitor cash flow across entities and propertiesQualifications3–7+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experienceReal estate, property management, or development accounting experience requiredExperience managing multiple entities and intercompany transactionsStrong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reportingProficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online preferred)Advanced Excel skills (reconciliations, reporting, data organization)Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environmentPreferred ExperienceProperty management software experience (Rent Manager, or similar)Experience with construction or development cost trackingFamiliarity with NYC real estate operations and vendor coordination
