Quality Assurance Manager
Schools FINS — Remote (Eastern/Central preferred)Harris School Solutions FINS is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead our QA organization across a suite of K–12 district accounting products.This is a hands‐on leadership role responsible for ensuring strong release readiness, scaling automation, and building modern QA practices that support predictable delivery and customer confidence. The team includes experienced manual testers embedded within scrum teams, as well as automation engineers working across products.We are looking for a leader who combines operational execution, technical depth, and steady people leadership – someone who can strengthen quality practices while creating clarity, trust, and stability within a distributed team environment.What Your Impact Will BeOwn QA execution and release readinessLead day-to-day QA delivery across multiple product teams, ensuring testing is well planned, visible, and aligned with sprint and release goalsProvide clear quality signals to Engineering and Product partners, supporting informed tradeoffs and predictable deliveryMaintain a strong pulse on testing progress and risk across teams through thoughtful engagement in key Agile ceremonies and targeted check-insEnsure effective defect triage, validation, and collaboration on high-priority production or customer-impacting issuesScale automation and adopt modern QA toolingExpand automated test coverage using modern frameworks (Playwright experience strongly preferred)Support pragmatic adoption of AI-enabled QA tools and workflows over time, improving efficiency and effectiveness without unnecessary disruptionPartner with automation engineers to build scalable approaches that benefit all product teamsHelp evolve QA practices beyond manual execution toward a balanced, sustainable quality strategyStrengthen team capability, rigor, and flexibilityLead, mentor, and develop a distributed QA team, fostering accountability, learning, and continuous improvementImprove consistency in test planning and execution discipline, including lightweight processes that support repeatability and clarityBuild resilience across the QA organization by reducing single points of failure and encouraging broader product knowledge over timeCreate an environment of trust and psychological safety, particularly during periods of transition and changeWhat We Are Looking For5+ years of experience in software delivery, QA, or test engineering2+ years of experience in QA leadership or people managementHands‐on experience with automated testing frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, etc.)Strong understanding of Agile delivery and embedded QA collaboration within scrum teamsAbility to introduce structure and rigor without creating bureaucracyExperience using quality metrics as tools for visibility, learning, and accountabilityExcellent communication and partnership skills across Engineering, Product, and SupportA calm, steady leadership style with strong ownership and follow‐throughWhat Will Make You Stand OutExperience scaling automation in a multi-product environmentExposure to AI-assisted testing tools or emerging QA productivity workflowsExperience leading distributed teams across time zonesFamiliarity with Aha! or similar product planning and delivery toolsBackground supporting SaaS modernization or cloud transitionsKnowledge of K–12 finance or ERP systems is a plusWhy join Harris School SolutionsHarris School Solutions builds mission‐critical financial software that supports school districts across North America.
