To collaborate with staff in creating a well-organized, relevant, and welcoming library resource center that supports all stakeholders.Job Duties / ResponsibilitiesTeach the board-adopted Library and Media Curriculum using district library resources in alignment with the Elementary Integrated Curriculum.Collaborate with the library paraeducator to plan and prepare for the upcoming lessons and foster an inclusive, respectful, and welcoming environment where the learning community feels valued and encouraged to explore their interests.Collaborate with the library paraeducator to circulate materials to students and staff using the district-supported Library Information System and following district guidelines.Provide direct instruction (includes in-person instruction, hybrid instruction, asynchronous and/or synchronous instruction) in library skills, including research, digital literacy, media, and the safe and ethical use of information.Provide opportunities with STEAM learning tasks.Collaborate with classroom teachers to design and deliver standards-based instruction.Promote and encourage a culture of self-directed inquiry and participatory learning while modeling ethical use of information and technology, digital citizenship, for students and staff.Provide equitable access to a culturally relevant and well-managed collection that reflects and meets the learning community's needs.Promote reading for enjoyment, information, and inquiry.Plan and implement programs promoting a love of reading and learning, such as storytelling, library events, or themed activities.Collaborate with the local community library to increase access.Maintain a physical and virtual space using the district learning management system that meets the learning community's needs.Collaborates on researching and ordering library materials (print, equipment, and supplies) that support the curriculum and reflect the diversity of the school's demographic population.Maintain accurate records of library usage, student engagement, and resource circulation.Maintain confidentiality of student, staff, and department information within the school and community.Uphold library, school, and district standards/procedures/policies.Provide administration-directed instructional support or intervention if content-specific minutes do not meet the special instructional minutes target.
