***Local candidates only, this is on-site 1-2 days per week in Westwood, MA***Up to $24/hr depending on experiencePatient Collections Associate3+ monthsMust Haves:*High school diploma or GED*1+ year of previous collections or customer service experience from the healthcare industryJob Description: As a Customer Service and Patient Collections Associate, you will handle a high volume of patient inquiries through telephone, mail, and electronic messaging regarding various billing issues. Your primary responsibilities will include:Resolving patient billing inquiries efficiently and accurately.Collecting outstanding balances and updating demographic and insurance information during patient interactions.Researching and resolving billing issues using multiple sources, including contacting insurance companies and other external contacts, and communicating findings to patients in a timely manner.Reporting recurring billing trends or issues to management and assisting in developing solutions when possible.Verifying insurance eligibility through available technologies, payer websites, or by contacting third-party payors.Managing and assigning referrals received via telephone, fax, and electronic methods.Reviewing and addressing PCP and self-pay exceptions reports.Adhering to established regulations and procedures for the collection, recording, storage, and handling of information.Ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, timely, and legible while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with the hospital’s HIPAA confidentiality policy
