Please join us if your goals align with ours!We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to make an immediate impact on the design of the Antenna Control Unit (ACU) for a next-generation phased array antenna for satellite communications. As an ACU Electrical Engineer at Farcast, you will be responsible for delivering mixed-signal PCBAs (power and digital, including I2C, SPI, Ethernet, etc.) used for controlling the antenna system. In this role, you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to understand design trade-offs, propose and implement novel solutions, and support the transition to production. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated ownership of the full life cycle of mixed-signal PCBAs, including design, schematic capture, layout, and a proven track record of taking designs to production.ResponsibilitiesDesign analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit boards, schematics, and layouts suitable for high-volume and low-cost manufacturingContribute to system architecture decisions, including power networks, thermal management, and component selectionSuccessful delivery of PCB/PCBA buildsDefine required test plans, interface with embedded software engineers,e and use lab equipment to verify and debug PCBAsRequired ExperienceStrong working knowledge and experience with schematic capture and layout in AltiumExperience developing hardware for high-speed data transfer and managing associated timing and signal integrity requirements, including working knowledge of transmission line theory, impedance matching, reflections, crosstalk, and lossesExperience designing power management, distribution, and regulation circuitry, and general knowledge of power integrity conceptsFamiliarity working with Contract Manufacturers for the manufacturing and assembly of PCBAsStrong familiarity with PCBA manufacturing, including DFM/DFAEstablished track record of designing and releasing electronics into production, ensuring manufacturability and cost efficiencyDemonstrated experience with general EE test equipment, including power supplies, loads, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, and soldering equipmentEducationBachelor’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar What Makes You Stand OutExperience with OrCAD / AllegroExperience in laying out dense BGA componentsExperience with modems or software-defined radiosExperience designing AC/DC convertersExperience working with GNSS/INS systems, including antennasBase SalaryFinal compensation package will include a competitive base salary, meaningful company stock options, and a comprehensive package of cash and non-cash benefits.
